So when I should have been writing porn, my friend Jim texts me. Want to see Transformers 2, he asks. Oh, frak that. But, the idea of getting out to a movie sounds good and I check the listings. Ohhh. Tetro was playing at the theater that's like four blocks from here. I wasn't really sure what to expect, but I'd heard it was really good at SIFF when Coppola was there. So Jim and I hung around for a while, he tried to talk me into going to Pride, I said frak pride, I'm gonna stay home and write more for the pornbattle (because three fics is really a lot less than I meant to write.)

Tetro... I may have more to say in the morning, but right now, all I can think of is, my god, I didn't think they made them like that anymore. It had this incredible old movie feel, it started out very slowly and was shot after shot of achingly composed cinematography. After a little while, it becomes a little more pedestrian so that the story can become the focus, but every so often it slips into the most shockingly well composed frame. Also sometimes the strikingly rich black and white, wide aspect ratio slips into a more narrow, brilliantly colored flashback or dazzling dance sequence.

I also might get to play DND on Thursday. Yay! I like DND. I'm considering a drow avenger of... some god I haven't determined yet.

*resists urge to beg for tin/Gaeta*

I've never heard of Tetro. Doesn't sound like something that would play here. ;_;

Gaius TV Guide

Well, Francis Ford Coppola is a big name that carries a lot of weight. So its a lot more likely than if the film had been made by just some guy. But maybe. Cities get that sort of thing on limited release sometime, so you might have to travel to see it. D:

But there are dvds and stuff.
