Remix is done and has been mailed in. Oh that's a good feeling. Now I should get back to thinking about actually writing other fic. Hmm.

I'm still messing around with my Cultist costume. I think I'm the only person in the Colonial Fleet who isn't totally obsessed with either Cylon or military costuming. I'm wondering if I should get myself a set of BDUs converted just in case, or even just the tanks or something. Part of me wants to fit in, and the other part wants being Jeanne to really become my thing and to run the heck out of the Cultist angle. Have also thought about starting a LJ community or a website for members of the Cult of Baltar.


The costume itself is a little frustrating because all of the items I've assembled, while they're really great, are a little too special on their own and also are doing some really odd things to my figure. It isn't just that my camera is behaving poorly and doesn't seem to want to shoot pictures with decent lighting. The brown camisole-style shirt has two layers and is a variant on the maternity shirts that were big recently- it poofs out after the underbust cinch, and has a little tie that makes a bow in the cleavage (and is also somewhat figure-unflattering, even with some of the fabric tailored out of it). The lighter brown hoodie shirt that I got is absolutely perfect- except it doesn't have a zipper or anything, and it is supposed to tie at the waist. This would be adorable if the other shirt didn't also tie in the center of the front of the body. I might just leave the ends of it hanging, but then the whole waistline situation is just gone. Add to this that the vest over both of them is kind of big- I tried tailoring it down and wasn't sure that was right, so I took out the dart in the back. I could probably take it in again if I wanted.

And of course the skirt isn't totally right (but it is cute) the brown tights I had now have huge runs in them and I don't have shoes. I thought this costume would be so much easier than it is turning out to be for some odd reason.

I love it. I'd actually keep the tights with the runs in them, after all, you're a survivor of a holocaust and I don't think they have a Target in the Fleet. Distresses and wrinkles might add to the "autheticity" so to speak.

I still need to get started on mine (Tracey Anne was the one with the sick kid, right? She frakked Baltar as soon as he moved into the Den??). And I need to get a yellow dog bowl for when I'm in Gatea's New Caprica clothes. X3

Its actually Jeanne's kid. Tracey Anne is cooking and one of them says something like, "Tracey Anne will give you anything you need." or something and then Paulla and Jeanne run off to get Derek from the sick bay. Tracey Anne seduces Gaius and then Jeanne and Paulla come back with the sick kid and wake up a rather awkwardly naked Gaius. The whole cultist situation is somewhat lulsy.

That's actually not a bad point. They might be space tights, though, so they might behave a little better than mine do.

Oh, right. That whole thing was so weird. Idea- We should bring the Orange Blanket of Hiding and try to wrap a Gaius cosplayer in it.

I hope so.

Oh god or Aaron Douglas. I know he's going to be wandering around, whereas I imagine AJ is going to be stuck at signing tables a lot. D: But I'm sure if we wear the costumes to the Fleet party on the Saturday it will be easier to find the actors because apparently they've all gone the previous two or three years.

Yeah, I just read Aaron will be there as a 'fan,' not as a 'guest.'

Do you have to be a member of the Fleet to get into the party? Because I so want to completely embarrass myself in front of AJ, you've no idea.

I'm so trying to find that out right now. I'm starting to get worried, cause in that case, I can't bring anyone like not even Britt and then I wouldn't wanna go. All I know is that there will be a party and I think saying that it is on Saturday may be too much information.


EDIT OF HAPPY:

"AFAIK, the Fleet Party is open to everyone. I went to it last year and didn't officially join until the naming ceremony at the 10th floor party after the Sheraton one. I didn't register on the boards until a day or two after I got home. So, I'm pretty sure your friends will be able to attend. They just won't be able to register here."

Also, how did I not notice the colour of that wall when I was there? You could totally do green-screen stuff!

This is a good point and a welcome one. ^^ I need to proceed with the accessories. Which would be the belt, the rifle and the stacks and stacks of propaganda.

Hm, that's a good point. Though in all honesty, a good program can drop out the color of any evenly lit wall or something as long as it isn't too close to skin color. Green is jut convenient. I'm not sure its regulation green-screen green.
